My thoughts on the presentation on the Group presentation summary of each chapter
1. The presentation was well structured and put together, they took their time & effort to collate the information as well as capturing the attention of each individual in the room, they're information on the topic was intriguing and overall accurate, the delivery about the discussion was entertaining along with each individuals respect for their members moment to speak. The quality of the presentation was a solid ten out of ten, i truly understood every aspect of what they had to say and enjoyed it.
2. The presentation was entertaining and didn't fail to assimilate me & nor did it bore me. There content also they're delivery was straight to the point each team member had no issue disseminating information to everyone. The structure was ably layered, it didn't lack any efforts, their timing and team ethics was perfectly intertwined with them bounces off of one an others performance right after one another. Along with the quality it all came together to be one well made presentation.
3. This presentation content was straight forward although there was couple students missing, that did not hold back or stop our group to join together and work as a proper group, we layered our presentation respectfully helping the students in the crowd to understand and go along with the information to prevent them from getting sidetracked with all the overwhelming out of information. Each member provided the sufficient amount of quality and performance to capture the audiences attention, i believe we did a great job, not being biased.
Besides that I frankly believe each group did a fantastic job on their presentation deserving a successful grade!
1: group presentation one was about chapter three, intercultural communication, it was centered around roles of communicating in interaction of different cultures. each concept was understanding the cultures values, beliefs or traditional communities & their identities, The factors of each culture was broken down by co-cultures, culture identity, sexual orientations, race & ethnicity, population, sex & gender, religion, socioeconomic status, age and generation have important on peoples influence and the way they express themselves, also elaborating on potential barriers from each cultures can cause sabotage to the entire process of effective communication.
2: Presentation group two was about chapter nine, Communication in groups this chapter focus on the communicating aspect of group work and the different roles each individual member would play. The beginning of was the core of all groups and the families they share, breaking down more in depth on which are protective, consensual, laissez-faire and pluralistic. Along with social groups, support groups, interest groups, work groups, service groups, and virtual groups. The traits of a healthy working group such as being interdependent & being able to understand the material, cohesive, develop and obey the productive norm, the many different stages of accountable and synergetic. Also considering the numerous conflicts and issues that can occur during group presentations, misunderstanding, personality clashing conflicts, culture, and virtual groups conflicts.
3: Presentation group three was about chapter ten, Leadership, the guided implementation of successfully organizing a group. Leadership styles and how to operate the roles of each task of the position, givers, seekers, and analyzers, maintenance position roles such as supports, interpreters, mediators, tension relievers, harmonizers, expediters, gatekeepers and recorders. Perspective meetings are a main contribute for both leaders and members/participants to get an understanding or feeling of each members standpoint or view. We also spoke about how to resolving issues between team members and how to tackle it from any angle, having to be sharp and quick to solve any minor problem to prevent a failed presentation due to group dispute. General steps were identifying, defining, and analyzing the issue, evaluate a variety of solutions & laying for the group members to come to terms or an agreement, few effective steps to get a successful presentation.
Preaching what we learned about communication is the entire process on building and layering your foundation brick by brick to having a successful presentation, being able to understand & improving more by being put into these circumstances to learn this ability to speak in such a large crowd, to be comfortable you must adapt to being uncomfortable, this is such a minute part of our lives and speaking in such a minuscule crowd compared to other public speaking areas, so adapting & overcoming these situations is just adding to your potentiality. This helps develop different areas of our communicating skills expanding it so were able to apply it to our everyday lives in the near future when we are put in a similar positions so were prepared.
The themes apply to our everyday life, needing to take control of a situation learning and understanding the material sets you up to apply this when its required, studying the material & acknowledging it you can honestly master the capability of doing an outstanding job for any presentation you stumble upon, time ahead. That being said communication registers for everything you accomplish. I believe group presentations are fundamentally great opportunities to brainstorm with individuals, getting to know one another & allowing to open yourself up to learning new information from others or just simply getting to know another stranger, this exactly what we are preaching about and working on communication skills.
Really nice reflection. Well written.
