In this post, I will write about the presentations that my class had to do. We all picked sections of the book "Comm6 Speech Communication" by Deanna D. Sellnow. All of us got into groups of three and had to choose either chapter three, nine, or ten. My group chose chapter ten.
One of the few main points of our chapter ten, was leadership that focuses on how to successfully improve guide and organize a group. We first started with the styles of leadership, later, one of my classmates in my group explained on how to make meetings successful for the ones who participate and those who are the audience. Finally, I was the one who presented the written, oral, and virtual formats of presenting in a group and how you can choose either one to use to communicate with your audience.
However, we weren't the first group to present. The ones who actually presented were in group one and they presented chapter three. They presented about Intercultural Communication and it focused on different cultures and their interactions. They also explained how co-cultures, culture identity, sexual orientations, race & ethnicity, population, sex & gender, religion, all influence in the way people express themselves.
The second group to present, presented chapter nine. They talked about the importance of communication in groups, which is really important because if you don't talk to your classmates about what you're going to do in your presentation as a team, then you won't be as successful with it. Slides may be done wrong, not many will agree with the template one's using. If no group presenting anything without talking it out will have consequences like arguing as to why one isn't doing what the other agrees on. Therefore, the teamwork in a group will not go well.
I believe that all my classmates did a very good job presenting. They seem to have knowledge on their topic that they chose to present on. Some people kept eye contact and some didn't with their audience but we all know that they did their best presenting as a group.
